hi i have a 06 mondeo tdci130 estate and the glow plug feed

Resolved Question:

hi i have a 06 mondeo tdci130 estate and the glow plug feed smokes/melted at the top rhs connection point. it also has power running through it after the engine is running!.i have started pulling the fuse out so i can still use the car any ideas please. thanks carl

Hi there good afternoon to you
Ok the most common cause of this is surprisingly one or more faulty glow plugs
The PCM receives a back fed resistance to turn the glow plug relay off
If one or most commonly more are faulty the glue plug relay doesn't switch off thus holding a constant voltage to the glowplugs and eiring melts due to excessive Heat
I would remove and test the glow pmugs firstly before going any further
