Resolved Question:

I have a Ford Focus 1.6 Ghia Auto. 51 Reg.
After driving for about 20 minutes temperature gauge goes into red but after a little while returns to normal. Repeats this sequence until parked up. Coolant is properly topped up & radiator fan is running

Hi there ,good afternoon to you and sorry for delay
Ok this type of issue indicates a blockage In the coolant system
Most commonly a sticking thermostat (not opening fully ) would cause the engine to overheat but then return to normal
If this occurrs more on motorway (constant speed) driving then the radiator should be suspected
The coolant system should ran to normal operating temperature then checked for any restrictions ie cold hoses etc
