Resolved Question:

, i have a Ford Focus 2004 (was originally fitted with a 1.6 zetec), it now has a 2.0 ltr ST170 engine (a zetec) do you think that i can fit a 2.0ltr Duratec ford motor in its place? I want to use the car on the road but also to race on our hillclimb/maybe sprint, but perhaps put carbs, maybe Webers on at a later date Martyn XXXX XXXXXXX *****@******.***

yes the 2.0 duratec will bolt up to your engine mounts and gearbox with no issues

as you're already on an aftermarket ECU its really a case of transferrring parts over, even the crank trigger should fit from the ST170 engine

I'd stick with the GSXR throttles as they are only slightly too small engine (38mm) but otherwise they will work well especially road engine - you will need a new inlet manifold though as the bore spacing is different between the 2 engines

if you want more power then you'll need a choke size of about 44mm
