Thank you for your prompt reply.

1.8 Petrol.

When spedometor drops to zero the radio goes quiet, and if going slowly the red light would come on and would stall.

No problem with rev counter and gear changes.

Milage window also went black.

Many thanks,

Terry

Hi there Terry good morning to you and sorry for the delayed response
Ok the fault you have is caused by a faulty vehicle speed sensor (VSS)
Ford released a service bulletin many years ago containing checks to be carried out to the VSS In regards ***** ***** resistance check the resistance of the sensor should be 1.5kohms
In each case I have seen this issue I have replaced the VSS to resolve the issue
This is located (slides into ) the gearbox and is secured by a small roll pin
Fitting a new VSS will resolve your issue
If you need anymore help or advice on this issue Terry please let me know
