Hi there good afternoon to you
Ok does the vehicle definitely have ABS fitted
If so does the abs light come on
Regards Brian
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

ABS fitted, but light do not come on

Expert:  Gallagher99 replied 2 years ago.
Hi there thanks and sorry for the delay
Ok in my experience with this issue the fault will lie with the instrument cluster
To clarify this I advise using datalogger to monitor what speed the abs module is receiving from the speed sensors
Ie: you want to see the ABS module showing 70mph but the cluster showing 50 mph
This indicates an internal cluster issue

I need to know what can I do with Instrument itself : replace rely, transistors or check contacts and so one.

Expert:  Gallagher99 replied 2 years ago.
Hi there
Ok if the abs module is seeing the correct speed but the neddle is dropping then you need to replace the instrument cluster to resolve the isdue as it is an internal fault

I do know that I need to replace cluster , but that will cost me too much is it possible to repair the cluster ?

Expert:  Gallagher99 replied 2 years ago.
Hi there
It would be more cost effective to buy a second hand cluster than repairing or replacing the existing cluster
Kind regards Brian

By the way On my Ford Fiesta installed the traditional analog gauges speedo.

To replace it I need to by as well ECU, new key Fob

Customer: replied 2 years ago.

The Cluster on my car is the traditional analog gauges.

I as I know to replace it I need to make recoding of it . Can I do it in DYI conditions ?

Expert:  Gallagher99 replied 2 years ago.
Hi there
Ok the mk5 fiesta cluster isn't part of the Immobilsor system etc so doesn't need recoding
You can just plug a second hand one in
Regards brisn
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

OK I 'lkl try it. But when I have tried to by cluster few days ago it was advised to

correct the cluster on ECU using FORD programmed controller.

Expert:  Gallagher99 replied 2 years ago.
Hi there
Ok the Immobilsor isn't in or connected to the cluster so you won't have to do this
It is the mk6 fiesta clusters which are part of the Immobiliser
You can just plug a second hand cluster in (same model etc )
Regards Brian

Hi Brian ,

I have Ford Fiesta 3 door , 1.4LX, 16 V , petrol engine and I believe it is

MK V . Is it correct ?

Regards

Expert:  Gallagher99 replied 2 years ago.
Hi there
Do you have the registration number so I can clarify this as if it is a mk6 fiesta the cluster needs to be paired to the Ecu
Regards Brian
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Yes I have it is YC 53 UUA

Customer: replied 2 years ago.

YC 53 UUA

Expert:  Gallagher99 replied 2 years ago.
Hi there thanks
Ok unfortunately this is a mk6 fiesta 2002-2008 model
The cluster is part of the Immobilsor system and must be paired to the Ecu to enable starting

So I need to by Cluster , ECU, Immobiliser module, fob and key ..

Will I able to fit it at home ? What else I need to have to fit it, please.

Expert:  Gallagher99 replied 2 years ago.
Hi there
You would need s second hand cluster /ECU (Immobilsor module is inside the Ecu )and a key
These 3 parts need to be off the same vehicle
Also the mileage would be different
If you buy a second hand cluster you can have it paired to the Ecu and the mileage re-written (as long as it's lower than your mileage )
This needs to be done using fords ids software probably 1 hours labour would cover it

Hi Brian,

Do I need to by a key with locks and ignition switch or only replace the chip inside key fob ?

Thanks

Expert:  Gallagher99 replied 2 years ago.
Hi there
Ok if it has a remote fob you can just swap the bottom part of the key
If it has a normal key then you would need the locks etc
I personally think it would be more cost and time effective to only change the cluster and have it coded
Regards Brian
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Yes , I have got a sense.

I still believe that inside cluster become faulty one of resistors that are connected with speed arrow.

Regards,

Vic

Expert:  Gallagher99 replied 2 years ago.

Hi Brian,

It is not easy to find garage who could replace second hand cluster on my car. I glad to, but do not know who could do it. Majority of garages do not do it , unfortunately.

Expert:  Gallagher99 replied 2 years ago.
Hi there vic
if you explain the issue and Pop the cluster out so as all they have to do is plug it in and pair it to the ECU using the diagnostic software
As ideally fords software will be your best way forward with this
We have done this and other modules when requested by the customer

Thanks Brian,

I just few day ago was in two garages . It is York, UK . Answer was we do not do complex electrics problems or we will fit only brand new cluster as it is only way we do.

What National company could fit second hand cluster ?

Vic

Expert:  Gallagher99 replied 2 years ago.
