Hi there thanks
Ok the first thing that must be done before going any further is to have the sat nav unit software updated to level 5.3
Ford released a service bulletin in 2009 to resolve many issues in regards ***** ***** sat nav system from map issues to freezing route guidance
This can only be done by a ford dealer who has the update disc (the dealer retains the disc and reuses it over on other vehicles
This is the most common fix to resolve issues like yours as the GPS is working ok so it will be down to the unit software /hardware levels
