Engine malfunction cuts out for no apparent reason. After a short while roughly 30 minutes starts again.

Ok what year and engine size is your focus
Does the red light in the centre of the dash flash rapidly when this occurs
Or on trying to restart the vehicle

Ok does the engine crank over but not fire up when this fault occurs

Ok if the engine malfunction message has appeared there will be diagnostic fault codes logged
The most common cause of this issue resulting in non Start (crank no fire )
Just to clarify the engine turns over or is there nothing at all
If there is nothing what does the red Immobilsor light do when you put the ignition on
