My 2004 1.6 tdi C-Max has just had a new EGR valve fitted after

Customer Question

My 2004 1.6 tdi C-Max has just had a new EGR valve fitted after the engine management light came on and the diagnostic check highlighted this as the problem.
been out for a good drive today and after about 50 miles the car lost power and on putting the car in neutral it would not rev above 3000 rpm. Switched it off and left it for 5 mins. Restarted it and ran fine again for about 20 miles before it happened again. Continued like this all time on the road. No dash warning lights on until 5 minutes from home.
This is exactly how it was before the EGR valve was replaced.
Any ideas would be appreciated
Many thanks
Chris

Hello this sounds like the DPF could be blockedtaking the car for a long drive where you can keep the engine rpm up over 2000 rpm for around 30 mins this will get plenty of heat into the system and get the system into re-gen mode if that doesn't help then consider http://www.dpfcleaning.co.uk/ or even removing it completely as you'll still pass MOT's fine without it, the key thing is to have the ECU re-programmed so its no longer looking for it http://www.dpfremoval.co.uk/ or http://www.removemydpf.co.uk/ On cars where the DPF is removed then typically you get more power and more mpg as it restricts the exhaust even when new
