I have water on one side of my Mondeo floor and now the car wont start, could it be the alternator, or is it something more serious do you think?

Hello I'd say its likely that the body control unit has been damaged as this controls the alarm / immobilser function the unit is located under the dash , see the attached diagram try disconnecting the unit and sparying the contacts on both sides with switch cleaner as a 1st step, but it spossible that the control module needs replacing
