Just had Rac out, no compression to cylinder 4. Spark plugs

Resolved Question:

Just had Rac out, no compression to cylinder 4. Spark plugs etc all ok. Computer also said exhaust gas recirculation. Ford Focus C max. Is this going to cost me a fortune to repair? Help please.

Car been perfect up until today after driving 3 miles engine management light on and car losing power.

Hi there yes it can be costly depending on the extent of the damage
as to remove the cylinder head itself takes around 3 hours then you have parts to resolve the issue in top of this
But you will not now the exact costing untill the head is removedA burnt valve you will be looking at around roughly £600 all in Remove the head and replace the parts etcIf the piston has blown you will be cheaper with a reconditioned /second hand engineRegards ***** *****Brian
