Ford Ka 2008 (mk 1) battery seems ok as radio and all lights

Customer Question

Ford Ka 2008 (mk 1) battery seems ok as radio and all lights works but when start ignition just get a whirring sound and no spark. Had a black box fitted last week could this be something? Have they messed up the electrics somehow? Any suggestions as to what it could be?

Hi there good morning to you and sorry for the delayed response ,

My name is ***** ***** I would be happy to assist you today

Ok I assume the engine doesn't actual crack /turn over

if you have good ignition lights but when you go to crank the engine over you are hearing a whirring type noise then this would indicate a starter motor issue ie: the starter cog just turning on starter and not doing its job which is to engage with the flywheel and turn the engine

If you need anymore help or advice on this issue going forward please let me know and I will do my upmost to assist you

If you are satisfied with my answer /advice

PLEASE REMEMBER TO RATE MY ANSWER

Kind regards ***** ***** and have a day

batter good all lights come on on ignition and just get a click and whirring sound nothing is sparking in engine. Wondering if I needed electrical engineer or just limping it to garage if could be starter motor. Any other checks I could do to make sure?

Hi there

From your description it will be a starter motor issue

You can't bump starting /pish starting vehicle as this way when it starts you can drive it to your nearest garage to have repair done

Kindest regards ***** *****
