Hi again, Evelyn.

A key worker (in the UK) is an employee who works in the public sector and is considered to provide an essential service. Some examples of key workers are:
Teachers and nursery nurses, police officers, community support officers, prison officers, probation service staff, social workers, educational psychologists and therapists, firefighters, traffic officers with the Highway Agency, and clinical national health service staff, just to name a few.
