I have a Garmin nuvi 1300 sat nav that was working ok until a week ago, by misstake I touched the screen and the map data vanished from view. Screen messages show that map data is unavailable. I was told over the phone by one of your staff it can be solved via acomputer link

Hi my name is ***** ***** I will be happy to assist you today. Have you performed a hard reset yet? Other than touching the screen, was there anything else done prior to that such as a map update or anything like that? Do you have lifetime maps?

Customer:

I have not done a hard reset, as I have no detail of this proceedure.

Customer:

No map update done.

Customer:

I do not know if I have a lifetime map installed !

Hi again, I apologize for the delay in response but I am on the US time zone so please bear with me.

Sijad H. :

Here is how to perform a hard reset.

Sijad H. :

  1. Start with the device OFF and unplugged from power

  2. Touch and hold the lower right corner of the screen with an index finger or the eraser end of a pencil

  3. Continue touching and holding the lower right hand corner of the screen then power the device ON

  4. Release the power button when the device powers ON

    • You will see a new message: "Do you really want to erase all user data?"



  5. Remove your finger from the touch screen when this message displays

  6. Touch Yes
