Garmin S2 Golf watch/distance measurement. My device -

Resolved Question:

Garmin S2 Golf watch/distance measurement.
My device - charged last week after a 'measured' round - today showed a blank screen and remained so whatever I pressed. I now have it connected to my computer but it is still blank. What can I do? Alan Shaw

Hello Alan & Welcome to Just Answer,

Sorry I didn't see your question earlier and to hear of any issue you are having with your device.

To help you with this issue, may I ask:

1) The AGE of the device?

2) Have the charging contacts of both the device and the charging clip been cleaned recently?

3) Have you tried any "resets" of the device yet?

If the charging contacts have NOT been cleaned recently (with a bit of alcohol and some cotton buds), and then try to charge for another hour or so.

Then I would try one (or both) of the resets listed below, starting with the SOFT reset.

To Soft Reset the Approach:
=======================
- Press and hold Light/Power
- Wait until screen goes blank (approximately 10 seconds)
- Release Light/Power
- Press and hold Light/Power
- When the device powers on, release Light/Power

The Approach will now restart. If the device is still unresponsive, connect the watch to the computer and then follow the above steps again.
=======================

To Master Reset the Approach (S2):
===========================
- Power the Approach off (Press and hold LIGHT/POWER button until device powers off)
- Press and hold DOWN
- Press LIGHT/POWER
- Release DOWN and LIGHT/POWER when screen displays Clear user data?
- Select Yes

The device should now be reset to default factory settings, and the device should function as expected

Thanks for your answer Greg. Sorry for my delay in responding.
On Sat 4th, after I contacted JustAnswer and after trying various combinations of buttons, the device began to work. It was then charged in the normal way and it worked well today. It is now charging again. So the difficulty seems to be over.
