I hava a Poterton boiler and over recent months when it fires

Customer Question

I hava a Poterton boiler and over recent months when it fires up there is a constant ticking sound, I accept the expansion and contracting of the pipes but the constanting appears to be excessive, advice please.

Is it coming from under the floors?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

The ticking sound appears to be directly above the boiler and into the area between the ceiling and floor above.

It could be expansion.
Are you able to make any of the holes through the ceiling larger or wrap the pipework above with insulation as it passes through the joists?
