Hi, i have a potterton combi 80,2 days ago CH wouldnt come ,pressure rising when turned on, if turned tap to get hot water pressure dropped ,got hot water but no ch. left turned off and went to work,that night i pressurised ch and bled radiators got a bit of air out of one then everything ok ch and hw ok.following morning same again this time it blew fuse in plug and on pcb so now no power.just changed pcb (inlast 8 years this is the 3rd pcb) when turned on mains power it blew fuses on board and plug. im now at a loss i have been told it will more than likely be a short on the fan and it will need to be replaced .please help ,can change fan but dont want to change it if ok and it turns out to be something else.

OK, dont panic.
There are only a couple of things that can blow the fuses - the fan and the pump.
If you are able to disconnect the supply to the fan and the pump (pull the plugs off the PCB) and replace the fuses and see if they hold?

Hi,sorry i didn't reply sooner found a local plumber who is a friend of a friend (mates rates).its the pump that has failed .you were right with your advice just received it too late Cheers Daz
