Is the boiler working properly except the lack of circulation of water?
It lights up and gets very hot and then closes down. No heat is sent to rads or water.
We have replaced the pump and fan.
And the zone valve appears to be working.
Do you think you have a blockage in the boiler?
Do both pipes get hot from the boiler?
You should only have one hot pipe, you have no circulation.
When you swapped the pump did you ensure the valves were turned back on?
Ok, let me know
It may be worth shutting the valves, removing the pump and then opening one at a time into a bucket to make sure they are clear
Right we have checked the valves and removed the pump, checked for blockages, replaced pump and opened the valves.
The boiler is now lighting and sending a little heat to the rads, but shuts down every two minutes.
The boiler itself is extremely hot to touch. The rads are very luke warm to touch.
Cannot tell about the hot water as we have had the emmersion heater on all weekend.
Any ideas please.
The boiler is re igniting after about two minutes rest. We have the room stat up to 30, but rads just luke warm.
It is definitely a circulation problem, it is hard to tell whether it is the boiler or the pipework unless you can get it circulating through the nearest radiator
The nearest radiator to the boiler which seems to be the hottest, is warm.
If it is the boiler what part do you think is broken.
Is it the Electronic spark generator that tells it to light and shut down?
You may find that the heat exchanger is scaled up and cannot pass the heat into the water or is restricting the water flow through the boiler.
Have you tried the pump on all speed settigs?
The thermostat on the boiler dictates the temperature of the circulating water
But if you have no problem with the hot water then the thermostat is fine
