De Dietrich induction hob has been operating poorly for some

Resolved Question:

De Dietrich induction hob has been operating poorly for some time.
Touch button control was very sluggish and operated sometimes after many attempts.
It has now ceased to operate. What is your diagnosis?

It sounds like its the induction coil which is end of life.
Are you able to share the model number of the hob, and I can look at the technical specs a little closer.

I dont have the model number to hand but the plates were functioning fully while the touch button controls operated.

Have you recently cleaned the hob, or had water boil over the hob?
If the touch buttons are not working this would suggest there is poor connectivity between your finger and the button which often sits under the glass.
There are many different types of controls used by De Dietrich but, if there are no signs or dirt or oil on the buttons its going to need an engineer visit, to see if the button sensors have dislodged.
