If it is all sockets then try locating the breaker, take the cover off the consumer unit and check the neutral for the circuit is still connected

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
i will pass this on to my husband as personally i have no idea what a breaker is or how to check that the neutral for the circuit is still connectedits just weird that the circuit breaker ( fuse) did not click to the off position as i might have expected when something electrical goes haywire

The circuit breaker only trips if you draw too much current or there is a short.

Get him to check the neutral path back to the consumer unit - he should know how to do this
