Customer Question

Hi
On my Samsung HT-X30 I used to have the surround sound, sub woofer etc connected. When I moved house I did not reconnect the speakers and now cannot get sound through my TV.
The DVD display reads as if the speakers are still connected.
Can I reset and just use the HDMI cable direct through the TV audio?
Thanks
Lee

Lee,
I asked an info-request, did you get it?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Yes. I did reply (twice).
Yes I want to connect LG TV to Samsung DVD with HDMI cable. I have picture but no sound.
Expert:  Shahid replied 2 years ago.
Lee, your both replies didn't come through for some reason, sorry for inconvenience. Please perform following settings which should give sound output in TV speakers..
In Stop mode, press the MENU button on Samsung DVD remote to get menu screen on TV.
Press the Cursor down button to move to Audio and then press the ENTER button.
Press the Cursor down button to move to HDMI AUDIO and then press the ENTER button.
Use the Cursor buttons to select ON and then press the ENTER button.
Now both video and audio signals are transmitted over the HDMI connection cable, and audio is output through your TV speakers only.
I trust my input will help you out. Please feel free to respond if you have any additional questions.

Hi Shahid
We tried to watch a DVD this morning but had to perform the Menu, Audio action again. Will we always have to do that or is there a "hard" fix?
Thanks again
Lee

Hi Lee,
HDMI AUDIO setting should stay in player menu, please unplug the player for 5 minutes after making setting HDMI AUDIO to see if it stays when power up the player or it goes back to Off?
Thanks.

Hi Shahid
It seems to have worked - thank you.
If it doesn't stay fixed at least we know what to do.
Thank you again
