Hello my name is***** look forward to assisting and am very sorry to hear that you are having this problem.
I want to warn you that it is possible you will need to replace a part in order to fix this.
There are a few different things that can cause this and a couple different parts so we would need to troubleshoot to find out for sure.
Can you explain this a little more please?

If the DVDs are clean, you should get DVD cleaning system for the player and use it, DVDs use a shorter wavelenghth laser and dirt and dust is more a critical factor. something like this:

This for the DVDs:

http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Innovations-4070300-SkipDr-Motorized/dp/B0041A3JR6

This for the player:

http://www.amazon.com/Endust-262000-Lens-cleaner-26200/dp/B003EEMDMC/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1416155083&sr=1-3&keywords=dvd+lens+cleaning

FYI
Initially, CD lasers with a wavelength of 780 nm were used, being within infrared range. For DVDs, the wavelength was reduced to 650 nm (red color), and the wavelength for Blu-ray Disc was reduced to 405 nm (violet color).

So the "pits" that is has to read are smaller on a DVD
