Now..

Steve G. :

Is this the first time setting up and using this receiver or have you had it a while

Steve G. :

?

JACUSTOMER-4rjdrxou- :

First tine

Steve G. :

Ok, so the receiver needs to be set up and to do this, it comes with a small microphone on a long wire. Did you get that in the box? Did you get the user manual also?

JACUSTOMER-4rjdrxou- :

I bought a audyssey mic for it an found the manual online

Steve G. :

Ok, hold on please....

Steve G. :

Ok, Page 36. Plug the Mic into the front jack labelled 'Setup Mic' and the receiver shoul dbe off to the races. It wil ask you some questions and you move the mic around.

Steve G. :

This is so the receiver can learn about the acoustics in your room and adjust the levels accordingly. It is highly recommended. You can always go back and manually change the settings.

Steve G. :

Any luck?

JACUSTOMER-4rjdrxou- :

When I plug it in and press enter like it say on the screen on the reciever nothing happens

Steve G. :

Ok hold on for a few seconds while I look.

Steve G. :

Ok, so the display says Set Mic At 1st Press Enter. You plug in the microphone and press Enter and nothing happens?

Steve G. :

That's odd.

Steve G. :

Let's reset the box completely and start again.

Steve G. :

Hold on

Steve G. :

By the way, is the voltage selector on the back set to 240V - I assume it is.

Steve G. :

To reset the AV receiver to its factory defaults,
turn it on and, while holding down the [VCR/DVR]
button, press the [ON/STANDBY] button. “Clear”
will appear on the display and the AV receiver will
enter Standby mode.

Steve G. :

Let's do that then turn it back on and try again.

Steve G. :

Also, was this purchased brand new in a sealed box? I'm wondering why you did not get the microphone. Is it a refurbished unit?

Steve G. :

Any luck?

JACUSTOMER-4rjdrxou- :

Am not home but wil check the voltage but I think it wil be 240. I bought it off ebay I tried to reset it as you have said but the same message is there its as thou its stuck in standby mode an wont switch on either with the remote or with the buttons on the device

Steve G. :

Ok, just save this chat and we can pick it up again at any time. I am on the east coast of the US so 5 hours behind you. I'm from London though. Go Spurs!!
