Ok, TV has Bluetooth but I am unable to find an ENglish language manual for the TV. Let me look some more.

Steve G. :

Ok, I have the information on the TV. Can you tell me the model number of teh soundbar please?

Steve G. :

Or doesn't :)

Steve G. :

Customer:

it should, but it doesn't!

Customer:

I can't seem to open/launch blue tooth on the tv

Steve G. :

Let me look....

Steve G. :

Ok, in the TV, go to Sound > Speaker Settings > TV Speaker > SoundShare Settings and look in Samsung Audio Device List

Steve G. :

Do you see any reference to any BT device?

Customer:

no

Customer:

it says "no device stored"

Steve G. :

Ok. Let's start again. Let's make sure that on the TV, 'Add New Device' is set to on.

Customer:

roger

Customer:

on

Steve G. :

Then go to the soundbar and push the USB/BT button on the remote

Steve G. :

You shoudl see BT Ready on teh display of the SB

Customer:

Steve G. :

Go into the TV's BT Headphone menu...

Customer:

Steve G. :

Sure: Sound > Speaker Settings > Bluetooth Headphone

Steve G. :

You should see the Soundbar listed

Customer:

no bluetooth headphone option.....

Steve G. :

Really? Under Sound > Speaker Settings, what are your options?

Customer:

tv sound output

Customer:

tv speaker

Customer:

tv insallation type

Customer:

then soundshare settings

Customer:

samsung audio device list

Steve G. :

Customer:

Add new dev ice

Steve G. :

Ok, let me look at the manual again.

Customer:

yep and it says no device stored

Customer:

on one hand it seems there is no bluetooth capability

Steve G. :

It states that the BT feature varies by region.

Steve G. :

You may not have it.

Customer:

but the smart controller works which is apparently paired via bluetooth

Steve G. :

Ok.

Customer:

and the salesman said there was!

Steve G. :

Right.

Steve G. :

Looking again.

Steve G. :

I should have BT.

Steve G. :

It

Steve G. :

The manual clearly states that there is an option under Speaker Settings for Bluetooth Headphones. Basically how this works is that the TV thinks your soundbar is a BT headset.

Steve G. :

It also states right abouve it: "" Availability depends on the specific model and area.

Steve G. :

Do you have the manual that came with your TV?

Customer:

yes

Customer:

what you are saying makes perfect sense

Customer:

my manual doesn't mention anytghing about these settings - leaves everything to the integrated e-manual

Steve G. :

Right, which is what I am reading. I'll upload a copy to you - hold on....

Steve G. :

https://www.dropbox.com/s/k86amwso25ywfsu/%5BENG%5DX14DVBEUH-1.116-1013.pdf?dl=0

Steve G. :

Feel free to download. It's a pdf

Steve G. :

For now, an optical cable will work until we figure this out.

Steve G. :

Or we can possibly use ARC.

Steve G. :

(Audio Return Channel)

Customer:

mmmm, down to the shops tomorrow then!
