Hi,my name is mike and I will assist you with your question.
When the engine was running was there any warning lights coming on at all?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

no waring lights,it wouldnt start when i tried it again after lunch,i cleaned
the distrutor cover,it started ok it was ok this morning after beeing left out in same conditions. dont know if that was all it needed.

Normally this happens when the distributer cover has a hairline crack somewhere or has corroded contacts. It would probably be a good idea to replace the cover as this will likely happen again.
