Andrew :

Hello, my name is XXXXX XXXXX I will be happy to assist you with your Honda questions today!

Andrew :

Do the wipers operate normally other than parking in the wrong position? If you grab one of the wiper arms can you manually move it back and forth?

Customer:

Yes wipers operate normally you cannot move them manually

Customer:

Yes wipers operate normally and cannot be moved manually

Andrew :

The switch that is located inside the actual wiper motor likely has some worn contacts that is preventing the wipers from parking in the correct position. If you replace the wiper motor the problem should be corrected.

Andrew :

Still with me?

Customer:

Yes sorry can the faulty parts be replaced or is it a new motor

Andrew :

On this model it will require a new motor.

Andrew :

They only offer replacement parts on the Civic Hybrid model unfortunately.

Customer:

What is the motor like to fit and is there an aftermarket one available

Andrew :

Yes there should be an aftermarket unit available but not sure how reliable they are.

Andrew :

In the US models all you have to do it remove the wiper cowl and remove the wiper linkage assembly to gain access to the motor.

Customer:

Is motor straight forward to fit

Andrew :

Yes you just need to remove it from the linkage assembly and install the new one in place. There should be three marks on the motor and one on the mounting bracket......when you re-install the bracket to the motor make sure the mark on the bracket lines up with the center mark on the motor.

Customer:

Thank for the advice

Andrew :

No problem at all.

Andrew :

Let me know if you have any other questions along the way.

Andrew :

Please remember to rate me at Excellent Service and Thank You for letting me assist you today!
