Ok, a combi then.
When the heating is on, do the heating pipes get hot under the boiler - if so, how far does the heat get?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

not sure but there is a pipe coming from the pump where the capillary from the over temp is fixed so this must be getting to hot .would you aggree

Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 4 years ago.
Yes, although it could be a problem with the overheat thermostat if is tripping too low.
Did the other pipe stay cold?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

the pipes on the extreeme left and right are too hot to touch

Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 4 years ago.
It sounds like no circulation.
Are you able to take the centre screw out of the pump and check it is spinning?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

have not checked but hot water is ok would this suggest pump is working?

Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 4 years ago.
If it is partially working or working slowly, then yes
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

pump is too hot to touch is this normal?

Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 4 years ago.
No. Can you leave it off for a bit and then try taking the screw out of the centre, and see if it spins when you turn the heating on for 10 seconds?
