Have a solid fuel burner with a back boiler, just had it fitted

Customer Question

Have a solid fuel burner with a back boiler, just had it fitted and every time we light it it makes a really load banging sound ever 5 mins or so. The boiler runs 5 rads but system hasn't been used since we moved in two years ago, any ideas why it's making these noises?

Brian :

Hi my name is Brian. This sounds like an airlock in the system causing the water to overheat in the back boiler. is there a pump on the system. if so try turning it up for a while to attempt to clear the air.
