Can you hear it sparking
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I'm hard of hearing, but I can tell you that it fires up as soon as you press re-set button.

Does it just fail to light first time?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

lights first time, every time when re-set.

It could simply be dirty electrodes, when were they cleaned last?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

it was serviced 3 weeks ago. engineer on holiday now.

Ok, if cleaned correctly it could be the spark gap, it could be the oil nozzle partially blocked.
It may be lighting and going out as it does not know it is lit - a dirty UV sensor would cause this.
If this is not causing a major problem then best to leave it until your regular engineer is back from holiday
