We have a potterton boiler that has worked well until serviced

Customer Question

We have a potterton boiler that has worked well until serviced by Gasworks. Now switching itself off every few days. Can press reset button and it comes back on again. But seems a bit erratic. Last night lot of banging noises in pipes but green light stayed on ok though occasionally flashing. Heating was still working however felt outer casing of boiler which was very hot to the touch so switched off at the mains. Didn't want anything to go on fire during night !!!! Please advise

It sounds like the pump is not circulating the water fast enough and the boiler is overheating. Are you able to check the pump?
