Thank you.

Unless you are already a British Citizen, you would first need to apply for Naturalisation as a British Citizen before you may apply for a British Passport.

See here for the Naturalisation application process: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/britishcitizenship/applying/applicationtypes/naturalisation/

If you are not sure whether you are already a British Citizen, you may apply for a status check using this form: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/applicationforms/nationality/form_ns.pdf

If the status check reveals you are already a British Citizen, then you do not need to apply for naturalisation.

Hope this helps
