Resolved Question:

I am a 30 year old Spanish citizen. I was born in Spain. My grandfather became British by naturalisation and my father became British by descent.
As, if I'm not mistaken, British Citizenship can only be passed on once by descent, would I be able to claim British citizenship if my father renounced his and became Spanish instead?
Thanks
Helen

Thank you for your question

My name is ***** ***** I shall do my best to help you

I am afraid that your father would have had to have been born in the UK to be able to pass his British Citizenshp on to you.

You cannot inherit from your Grandfather.

I am sorry to disappoint you
