Buachaill :

1. A judgment mortgage is valid for twelve years from the date of the judgment being given in respect of which the judgment mortgage is registered. This is the period of limitation applicable whether the land is owned by a deceased person or by a living person. Once the judgment mortgage is registered it applies against the land and is not a personal claim. The death of the person makes no difference to the limitation period applicable.
