Resolved Question:

I am a solicitor who has not practiced for over 5 years - can I return to the profession

1. Yes, of course you can return to the solicitors' profession, provided you do not have any disciplinary limitations upon practising. There is no obligation to always practise as a solicitor. Breaks are permitted without any penalty. Be aware that your professional indemnity insurer might impose additional Continuing Professional Development points requirements upon you in your first year of practice. However, not all insurers do so.
