my engine making a strange rattling noise. Also when I accelerate

my engine making a strange rattling noise. Also when I accelerate it makes a grinding sort of noise but car performs as normal. When car sits in neutral it feels like something inside engine is loose with the rattling noise

Hello

if the noise is a tinkling sort of noise that increases with rpm then it could be the timing chain
the way to confirm this is to remove the cam cover and feel the tension of the chain between the two cam sprockets
if this is OK then check the oil level in the transmisson as the next step
