Our 2006 xj6model touch screen not functioning. Was there a recall for this or the 2007 model. If not what could be wrong with it and how can this be cured?

It appears we missed each other in the Live chat and you have now gone off line - so I have switched us out to the QA system.

I was asking for the Vin of the car but as you didn't reply , to save time, I have checked all - and there are no recalls on that year range for issues with the screen / touch screen system.

There are for the 08 models, TSB's on the need for software updates to be done by Jaguar in the case of erratic operation - but in the case of a dead unit, there is a complete check list for technicians to work through to determine the fault, I can give you that if this is something you can do, or could give to someone to do for you... Other than that - a plug in diagnostic test at a Jaguar garage or garage that has the correct equipment would be needed to determine whats wrong.

These earlier units tended to be very reliable to be honest so if its playing up as you have, it would just have to to be checked through as above to see whats gone wrong -

Have asked for you to forward check list but not prepared to pay any more money. Garage wants 1400 euro and Vat and still won't guarantee it will work. Should we contact Jaguar direct as we're not satisfied with the garage Derek

Im sorry no - I dont see any reply or contact from you after my "answer" as showing above...

I can see a reply from timed at 12:06 - re checking a later list -

As I said to you in my reply Derek- the 08 models were the only other reference -and yours is earlier than that -

Indeed, there is no harm in contacting Jaguar - you are best asking the garage to do this for you as they will listen more to them - ie, its best to have them on side so to speak.

The dealer you are dealing with will not withhold any info from you re Tsb's / recalls etc - so if you are concerned - ask them too about that issue -

Be sure to be using a dealer though - your average small garage will not have the info you need - as above in any case.

If you want to give me your Vin I will double check here for you , I dont mind.
