Hello

when the diagnostic was plugged in was this a genuine jaguar tool?

as these cars are quite fussy about what gets plugged in and there a re a fiar few codes that don't translate into a generic scan tool

if it was a genreic device I'd suggest trying again with a jaguar specialist and their tool

This could be a wiring issue as things tend to expand when hot and its possible a poor or partial electrical connection is being pulled apart on one of the major sensors so check the connection plug and wiring to the following;

Airflow meter

Crank position sensor

Cam position sensor

O2 sensor

Throttle position sensor

Also worth checking the connections to the fuel pump for the same reason

Hi Matt

could you please tell me what the following mean

P1647 lambda control malfunction bank 2

P1582 data record

Expert:  Matt replied 3 years ago.
Hello

P1647 is usually caused by a faulty senso, they don't last forever and its quite common to have to replace them once or twice over a cars life

check that the wiring is OK and no damaged and the connectors are not corroded

if this is OK then replace the sensor
