Hello again Stewart- Thank you for your reply -

Can I just ask - did they both stop working ..before you changed the batteries?

Can you gain entry to the car etc - to the cars battery? - If so, can you start the car ?

Too - can you give me the Full reg number of the car..

Hi again - Thank you for your info there.
Its just possible that the one failed battery wise - unknown to you - then the other that you use daily failed - hence they both needed new batteries..
So then they need programming / sync to the car..
I don't know if you have tried that or not but it needs doing - sometimes you have to do it a couple of times if it doesn't work first time..
The procedure is as follows -
Note: When carrying out the alarm remote programming, ensure that
no other vehicles within a 50 meter radius are undergoing the same
programming procedure, as this could affect the programming
operation.
Note: All required remote transmitters must be available when
carrying out this procedure.
1. Open driver’s door.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ‘auxiliary’ position, then turn the ignition switch to the ‘ON’ position and back to the ‘auxiliary’ position four times.
Note: A chime from the Generic Electronic Module (GEM) will indicate
programming status has been enabled.
3. Turn the ignition switch to ‘OFF’ position.
4. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
5. To program the transmitter, press any key within 10 seconds.
Note: If the remote transmitter has been accepted, the GEM will
make a chime.
-- If the above doesn't work - as mentioned you may need to try a few times to get the hang of it..
IF it never works for you , then you have developed a fault - most likely on the car as both don't work.. There was a Jaguar TSB on this issue - whereby a fault on the ign barrel caused non communication of the fobs - in that event, a new ign assembly is needed.. If it should come to that , I would strongly recommend a dealer doing a plug in test on the systems to properly determine the fault before anything more -
Let me know how you get on - or if you need anything else at all...
Kind Rgds - MIKE.
...Meantime - Please do click on the "OK/ Excellent ratings" for me as that's how Im credited for helping you - Thank you in advance for that...
You can and are most welcome to get back to me anytime you might need - clicking the OK ratings does not close you out at all..
Rgds, MIKE.
