Put the MAF back on until you get a new one.
Without a MAF, the fueling will be a default low power amount.
A MAF code is not always a faulty MAF, could be wiring, cam timing sloppy chain etc.
Have you scanned the vehicle for codes set?
Does the engine light come on?
If you are chasing black smoke, then you should be looking for boost pressure leaks,
poor injector spray patterns etc. I doubt changing the MAF will have any effect.
How much black smoke are talkng about?
Can you see it in the mirrors?
Without any codes set, you would be guessing to put a MAF on it.
Don't waste your money on a MAF.
You need to get a Jaguar technician to verify your concern.
It needs physical diagnosis, which I can't do for you.
White smoke, definitely white, not steam, there is a difference.
If you have cold weather now, are you sure it is not steam?
Happens in cold weather after cold start.
Sounds like it is a little fuel rich at low rpm.
Might have one injector a bit off.
Needs workshop analysis.
