ok to wait for professional....also is there any way to bypass the clutch ignition system ,as the vehicle will be scrapped when the m.o.t runs out at the

end of the year so its not worth spending a lot of money on.........

Hello, welcome to Just Answer/Pearl. My name is Mike, I will
do my very best to assist you with your question today.

Is there any warning lights coming on at all?

Also does it feel like the clutch has good resistance?

Customer: replied 4 years ago.

no warning lights, clutch has good resistance.there is a plastic tubular cylinder with a push rod going through it attached to the cluth pedal.

it has two wires on top of it that appear to go to the ignition.

the cylinder seem to be quite loose.?????

Expert:  mike_a_mechanic replied 4 years ago.
The area that you are describing is the clutch master cylinder and if it is loose, this is your problem the rod is not making contact to start the vehicle and the cylinder would require replacement.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

can i bypass the system,so it will start without depressing the clutch????

Expert:  mike_a_mechanic replied 4 years ago.
Unfortunately the way the system is set up it can not be bypassed.
