I am replacing my engine on a jeep cherokke XJ 2.5td VM engine and need to know how to set up the gears inside the timimng case to line up to the cam shaft so that I can fit the injector pump correctly. one side is marked abcd the other 1234

Hello,I hope the following is of assistance.

To time the injection pump correctly requires a dial gauge, the marks for the gears are shown below.

The B mark on the injection pump must align between the marks on the camshaft gear as below.

The woodruff key should be at the 11 O'clock position when fitting the pump, when the engine is assembled you need to fit the dial gauge into the rear of the pump, the reading should be 0.65 mm at TDC.
