Need to reset password XXXXX Lenovo Think pad laptop and do not know how to and cannot
log in without it. Can you help please.

ok, it needs to be one word so we make it RuthF

Tun off the computer

Turn on the computer and keep tapping F8 until you get to a menu.

Choose Safe Mode with Command Prompt.

You will get to a screen where you can type.

Type in

net user /add RuthF weafinfar

Press enter. If you do not get an error (tell me if you do), then type in

net localgroup administrators RuthF /add

Press enter

Restart the computer and you can now log in with this new account.

Sorry don't know if you received my last reply just had problems with internet too. I tried your instructions but sorry it still came up with the same answer I got into the safe mode with command prompt but it still went to the old password XXXXX i.e. Ruth password XXXXX the prompt for me to remember my password XXXXX forward to hearing from you soon.

replaced as I believe it is faulty.


I have re-ordered so hope that will be ok.
