So, right now, the Internet does not work on the laptop right? And you are communicating with me on a different computer right now?

Do you remember the name of the broadband connection icon / program name?

Can you click on the Sony laptop have windows 7?

Was the Sony laptop connected via wireless connection previously?

Do you see the small wireless /network icon at the bottom right corner of the laptop's screen, that you can click on?

Or click on Start\Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center, then click on Connect to a network, then let me know what happens.
