my Lenovo ideapad has locked and is asking for a password
I have never registered or used a password *****
It is only a few months old and is not used much
Can you hepl please as I am low tech in computing

Hello,
My name is Jason. I look forward to helping you today.

One quick way to get rid of that password screen is to do the following:
- Press the Power button for 15 seconds or until it turns off.
- Unplug the power cord from the laptop
- Remove the battery
- Wait 10 seconds
- Plug the battery back in
- Plug it into the charger
- Turn the laptop on.

Once it comes up, the lock screen will not be there anymore.
