Pete :

Hi there,

Pete :

The TV will automatically search for updates at night, and the standby light will blink when this is complete.

Pete :

The time taken can vary

Pete :

It is not possible to turn off the updates.

Pete :

The only way to stop the TV updating and blinking is to turn off the power.

Pete :

If you don't want to get out of bed, you could fit a timer that turns off the power to the TV at night and turns it on again in the morning.

Thanks Pete. Just to be clear how does it search for updates, it's not a smart TV linked to the Internet,
Assuming this U.S. the case is there any way to chage the time of day it searches for these updates.
If we turn it off and does not then update, will it eventually stop working?n
Thank, ian

Hi Ian,
The updates are received over the air, through the aerial.
There is no way to change the time of day it searches - it will always begin around midnight when the TV is in standby mode.
