My Laptop Packard Bell ETE69KB has started to run slow especially opening gmail attachments. I also get a lot of messages saying plugin missing., tune up Utiities, tried restoring to an earier time but can't get past my firewall.

Is it only with Gmail its slow? Or all over whenever you do anything?
And when did it start doing this?

It started last Thursday, it is generally slow but paricularly G Mail and the pointer suddenly jumps to a different page

When you did the restore, how did you mean the firewall stop you?

I got a message saying saying could not complete close anti virus and try again I use Eset and can't find how to close it etc

ok, to close it, on your desktop, click near the time and you will see Eset, click it and you can then close it there David.
Then run the system restore (as this will remove what has slowed down your computer)
I can also do these steps , and have made a request via Additional Services. This is optional, and if you choose to do this, I can, with your permission, remote into your computer while you watch and do all these steps (and deal with any problems that arise during them) . Click on Download in the top right.
Go down to "TeamViewer Quicksupport"
Click on Download and download and run the program.
It will give you an ID and a Password.
Please give me the ID (leave a space between each character eg: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9) and the password ***** your next message to me here.
Do not close the program, but leave it open.
I can then connect to your computer.

the last step we do is in that window type in
chkdsk /f
Press enter
it will say
"the type of the file system is NTFS cannot lock current drive.
chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts y/n"
Say Y, press enter and restart the computer.
Then the computer is running as fast as possible David.
