Hello! Thank you for your question. I am a licensed computer professional with over ten years of experience, and I will be assisting you today.
I'm sorry about the issue. Can you please check at the back/bottom of your Samsung Chrome notebook for the exact model of it?
Thank you. I'm checking on this model, please wait a bit; please stay on this web page. Thank you.
At the back side of your samsung, there is a tiny hole on the right?
that is the recovery button
1. Press & hold the Power button on the samsung until it powers off
2. Use a paperclip or pen to press & hold the recovery button, and then turn on the Samsung while keeping the button pressed.
Does that boot Into Recovery Mode?
No there is none
Do you mean there is no recovery button or it does not do anything when you power on the Samsung while holding the recovery button?
Theres no recovery button. Only hole is for power wire
Can you compare your Samsung with the image below, does it look similar or different?
No entirely different.
It is only a notebook
Sorry, I'm checking.
First, turn off your Samsung. Next, press Esc and Refresh keys on the keyboard and hold down the Power button. (The Refresh key is located where F3 would be on a typical PC keyboard.)
Image of the 3 buttons you need to press & hold:
Does it go to recovery mode?
It says Chrome OS is missing or damaged insert recovery stick or SD card blue USB port will not work for recovery
Do you mean the USB port does not work on the samsung chrome notebook?
No its a note on screen in brackets
Do you have a USB flash drive 4GB or higher?
Are you communicating with me on another computer?
Is it a windows or mac computer?
Does it have an SD card slot on the working computer?
no chrome notebook same as broken one
Does this working chrome notebook have an SD card memory slot?
Do you have an SD / SDHC memory card with 4GB or higher?
no will have to buy one
In order to fix the other chromebook, you will need a USB flash drive or an SDHC memory card with storage size of 4GB or higher.
Can I provide you the link to the solution now?
ok what do I need to do with it
You can try it later when you have the tool. I recommend to use a USB flash drive.
Basically, you download / use the Chromebook Recovery tool to create a recovery image on the USB flash drive (or memory card), then insert it to the other chromebook in order to reinstall it.
