Hello Kevin! Thank you for your question. I am a licensed computer professional with over ten years of experience, and I will be assisting you today.

I'm sorry about the issue. Does your Toshiba laptop have windows xp, vista, or 7, or 8?

Do you need any data from the laptop?

You said you tried restarting again refreshing. Can you please tell me the steps you tried for refreshing when it asks for the administrator password?

Is it okay to reset the laptop fresh, so you can re-set it up fresh with a new password ***** want?

Please reply at the box below. Thank you.

You're welcome. Actually, Richard is not here; I'm tech Viet; I will be helping you right now.

When does it ask you for the administrator password? At which step?

Did this laptop originally come with windows 8 (or did it come with windows 7, etc., then you upgraded to windows 8)?

Can you turn off, then turn on, then right away, keep tapping quickly and repeatedly the key F12 on the keyboard, then do you see anything new?

Please reply at the box below. Thank you.

I've selected the hdd recovery button and there's a blue box and it says the hard drive recovery process has been selected. Please choose yes if you are sure that you want to continue so I've pushed yes then chose the language and I've got 5 options which I've had before one says continue to windows 8 on volume 5 the next says use a device the next says use another operating system the next says trouble shoot and the last says turn off your PC
Expert:  Viet - Computer Tech replied 2 years ago.
Yes, please select option Troubleshoot, then select option Reset your PC and confirm. Also, when prompted, select option "Just remove files." Please let me know. Thank you.
