My daughter's Acer E3-112 laptop won't boot up Windows

Resolved Question:

Hi, my daughter's Acer E3-112 laptop won't boot up Windows 8.1. After login the desktop appears for a while, then it disappears and reappears constantly as if caught in a loop. Any ideas, please?

Hi. My name is***** you for your question and the opportunity to assist. Running System Restore should fix this. Boot the computer up to the log in screen (but don't log in yet)
While holding down the Shift key click the power icon in the lower right corner and select Restart.
Release the Shift key when you see "Please Wait"
At the Choose an Option screen select Troubleshoot
Click Advanced Options
Click System Restore
The computer will restart and System Restore will start preparing.
Select the user account
Enter the password
When System Restore starts click Next
Put a checkmark in the box labeled Show More Restore Points
Select a restore date when you know the laptop was working properly
and click Next.
Click Finish
Let the restore complete and the laptop restart.
Once done it should be running the way it was on the chosen restore date.

Hi Byron, thanks for the tip. System Restore failed because of an antivirus programme. I have Norton 360 installed. It advises I disable the antivirus and try System Restore again. How do I disable the antivirus when I can't get a stable desktop? Is there another way to do this?

Hi. Start the machine back to the login screen and repeat the procedure. At Choose an Option
click Troubleshoot>>Advanced Options>Startup Settings
Click Restart
Press 4 for Safe Mode
Log in to the machine (desktop should be stable in Safe Mode)
Close Windows Help and Support window
Hold down the windows logo key (just to the left of the spacebar) and press R
In the Run box type: rstrui.exe and click OK
This will launch System Restore
