Resolved Question:

My Acer Aspire 7738G reports that the Intel Rapid Storage Technology is faulty and requires to be updated. Can you recommend a solution? Does Acer have a device-specific solution?

Can you share the exact message you are receiving? Also what is the serial number for the unit and the version of Windows you have installed?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Sorry for the delay. The warning message reports that Intel Rapid Storage Technology failed once on 10/10/2015 and that a new version was available. The link provided was unable to download the necessary file. The serial number of the machine is LXPFU020779442B5E92000 and the SNID is 9444417764120. It is running Windows 7 Home Premium O/S.

There's only a couple of storage-related drivers on their website... one would be the chipset driver, version 9.1.1.1015, dated 10/23/2009, and the SATA driver, 8.9.0.1023 dated 10/22/2009.I would try re-installing both and seeing if that takes care of the issue. The first is here: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/Chipset/Chipset_Intel_9.1.1.1015_W7x86W7x64_A.zip?acerid=633919028446261466&Step1=NOTEBOOK&Step2=ASPIRE&Step3=ASPIRE%207738G&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_6#_ga=1.161218557.1319467212.1445343653The second is here:http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/SATA/SATA_Intel_8.9.0.1023_W7x86W7x64_A.zip?acerid=633917916814613564&Step1=NOTEBOOK&Step2=ASPIRE&Step3=ASPIRE%207738G&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_6#_ga=1.161218557.1319467212.1445343653

It's also possible the message was just a fluke... if it only occurred once.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
OK, I'll try that and report back.

Hi Wes. I installed the two drivers from the links you provided, and they seem to have resolved all the problems I was having. Many thanks.
