When playing sound I am met with a continuous high pitched squeal. How can I fix it? It says that the speakers are working correctly.

Which version of windows are you using? And when did the problem first start?

Also what sound are you trying to play?

windows 10, first started a few days ago, when i plugged a different headset in. Have run full virus scan, no viruses found. Any sound, seems to be from device itself although in settings it says speakers are working correctly.

ok, can you remove the power cable please and hold the power button down for 60 seconds then release.

Then connect the power cable, turn it on and tell me how it then operates please.

ok, I want to do a system restore please.

To do this, close all programs.

Press the windows key + X and click on Control Panel

click System and Security

Then click on System

Then System Protection

Then System restore

Choose a date before this problem occurred.

Let it complete and tell me if it now functions correctly please

Click on Download in the middle of the page

Download and install the program and give me the ID and Password ***** please so I can connect

Do not close the program but leave it open else I will not be able to connect
